<\/strong>Throughout history, Rakalj is known for its potters who made pottery products by hand, mixing clay and quartz stone, gnjilu i solenu and baking it to be resistant to high temperatures. The lack of high-quality arable land is one of the reasons why the people of Rakljan engaged in supplementary work, fishing, seafaring and pottery, thanks to which they became widely known. The knowledge of making pots was passed down from generation to generation, but also within the village community. Entire families were engaged in the production of pottery products, and everyone participated in the preparation, production and sale of pots as needed.
