Kutina

Kutina, the town and center of the city administrative area in Sisak-Moslavina County, Moslavina, is located on the southeastern slopes of Moslavina Mountain. The city has 13,735 inhabitants, and the city administrative area has 22,760 inhabitants (2011). The city is located next to the Zagreb-Lipovac highway and the Zagreb-Vinkovci railway line. The oldest traces of the settlement come from the Roman period. It has been mentioned as a parish since 1334. In the Middle Ages, it was an important traffic intersection and trading post. During the Ottoman invasions, it was surrounded by ramparts (Blodyn and Kutinjac grad fortresses). In the XVIII. century it became the property of the noble Erdődy family. Since the 20th century, it has developed into a strong economic center of Moslavina (oil, natural gas). Birthplace of, among others, theologian and rector of Zagreb University Dr. Gustav Baron, actor Draga Krča, writer Dubravka Ugrešić and writer Sima Mraović.

Erdödy Castle

Erdődy Castle, today the Moslavina Museum, is located in the center of the city, at Trg kralja Tomislava 13, within a partially preserved former park.
The oldest middle part of the castle was built in the Baroque style in the 18th century. At that time, the castle was part of a complex of about 15 buildings regularly arranged along the main road, among which were outbuildings. It got its present form at the end of the 19th century when, in the spirit of historicism, the north and south wings were added in 1895, giving it the floor plan H. A tall one-story house with a basement and an attic. It is covered with a gable roof with tiles. It was originally a baroque building, but today the second historicist phase dominates. It is one of the most significant buildings from that period.

Church of St. Mary of the Snow

The church is located on a hill, it has a prominent position in the image of the city, it is surrounded by a cinctor inside which there is a landscaped garden, and there is a cemetery in the immediate vicinity. The construction of the church began in the first half of the 18th century. A medieval Gothic church stood in its place. The church is a one-nave building with a rectangular floor plan with a narrower sanctuary closed by a semicircular apse, the sacristy is located on the south side, and a rectangular space on the north side. A belfry was erected in front of the western facade, the roof is gabled and covered with tiles. It is one of the most luxurious and completely preserved churches of the Baroque period in the area of Moslavina.
